NDSU graduates are highly sought by employers. That’s the bottom line of the newly-released 2023 Career Outcomes Report which captures information regarding how new NDSU graduates fare in their careers within six months of graduation.
The new data was shared at an event on March 19. A video was shared and speakers included Becky Bahe, director of the NDSU Career and Advising Center; NDSU President David Cook; Kathryn Birkeland, Ronald and Kaye Olson dean of the College of Business at NDSU; Reid Mattson, outsourced and managed services partner at Eide Bailly; and Katherine Grindberg, executive vice president at the Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber of Commerce.
The report and video show that recent graduates have seen a 94% success rate with 74% of respondents entering employment, while another 20% are continuing their education.
This year’s report surveyed students who graduated in August 2022, December 2022 and May 2023. A total of 1,827 responded out of 2,131 undergraduate degrees awarded – an 86% response rate.
“NDSU works closely with industry partners to create degree programs and curriculum that matches what students will see during employment,” said NDSU President David Cook. “The quality of education a student receives is a good indicator of the quality of employee they will become when entering the workforce. NDSU educates future leaders to provide the state, region, nation and world with a strong workforce that will create solutions to shape a better world.”
