Theatre NDSU opens “The Importance of Being Earnest” in April

SHARE

Theatre NDSU is scheduled to present “The Importance of Being Earnest” by Oscar Wilde as its final production of the 2024 – 2025 season starting Thursday, April 24.

This hysterical Victorian romp follows two friends, Algernon and Jack, who are both themselves… and not. You see, both men, themselves in London, assume fictional identities in the country. What’s more, both men are in love with women who are set on marrying a man named Earnest. How will the men change their names? How will they win their love? How will they prove they are, in fact, earnest and Earnest?

Performances of “The Importance of Being Earnest” are at 7:30 p.m. April 24  through April 26 and May 1 through May 3 in Askanase Auditorium. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and students, and free for NDSU students with ID. Visit NDSU Performing Arts website or call the box office at 701-231-7969 to purchase tickets.

Askanase Auditorium is in Askanase Hall at 1497 12th Avenue North on NDSU’s campus. To learn more about what plays are on deck for next season, visit the Department of Theatre Arts website.
