SHARE

The 2013 Preparedness Expo, hosted by NDSU's Emergency Management Student Association in conjunction with NDSU's Department of Emergency Management. is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 11, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Memorial Union Plains room. The event provides information and education on hazard awareness and preparedness. It is free and open to the public.

Many campus and community organizations that work with emergency preparedness and response are participating in the event. NDSU emergency management students will show public service announcements they created for the Disaster Preparedness class using the now familiar rubber duck theme, and rubber ducks will again be given away during the expo.

In addition, the event will feature a silent auction to support NDSU Emergency Management Student Association initiatives. The auction will be open for bidding the same hours as the expo. For winners who are not present at the auction's close, notification and delivery will occur the week following the expo.

NDSU is recognized as one of the nation's top 108 public and private universities by the Carnegie Commission on Higher Education.
