Mary Pull, director of the Center for Writers, was awarded the Distinguished Educator Award by the NDSU chapter of the Blue Key National Honor Society. The award was created in 1969 by Blue Key to honor an outstanding educator at NDSU for his or her extra interest in students and their problems, education, field of expertise, and NDSU. The educator must have shown outstanding qualities especially in helping students above and beyond what it required.
Pull is a senior lecturer in the Department of English and is academic adviser for the English education major.
“I am deeply touched by this incredible honor, and I extend my heartfelt appreciation to the members of Blue Key for the recognition and the wonderful banquet,” Pull said. “Working with such stellar students, staff, faculty and administration at NDSU is truly a privilege that I hold dear, and I hope to continue to pass on all the encouragement that has been showered on me.”
NDSU is recognized as one of the nation's top 108 public and private universities by the Carnegie Commission on Higher Education.
