A Prairie Gardening Day workshop sponsored by the NDSU Extension Service is scheduled for April 26 at the NDSU Williston Research Extension Center.
NDSU faculty and researchers will present classes on ornamental grasses, trees for North Dakota, annuals, perennials, small fruits and other topics.
"This is a great opportunity for gardeners to hone their skills before the growing season starts," says Esther McGinnis, NDSU Extension Service horticulturist and Master Gardener program coordinator.
The workshop runs from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and includes lunch. To register, call the Williston Research Extension Center at 701-774-4315 or download the registration form at http://tinyurl.com/WillistonPGD.
The registration fee is $10 in advance or $15 the day of the event.
"NDSU Extension has sponsored major spring gardening events in Bismarck, Fargo and Grand Forks, so we are thrilled to also be serving gardeners in northwestern North Dakota," McGinnis says. "We hope this will become an annual event."
NDSU is recognized as one of the nation's top 108 public and private universities by the Carnegie Commission on Higher Education.
