David Newman, assistant professor of animal science and swine specialist, is scheduled to be a featured speaker at the fourth annual Symposium on Advances and Current Issues in Animal Wellbeing, organized by the Division of Agriculture Research and Extension of the University of Arkansas System. The event is set for Thursday, Aug. 7, in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Newman’s presentation is titled, “Welfare and the Modern Pig."
The symposium will focus on birds of the future, transparency in production operations and animal welfare, ranging from legal to behavioral aspects.
