Karla Mongeon-Stewart, budget director, was accepted into the 2008 National Association of College and University Business Officers Women’s Leadership Institute Dec. 7-10 at Amelia Island, Fla. The program is designed for women in higher education who aspire to become senior leaders.
The institute is co-produced by seven higher education associations. Its purpose is to bring together mid-level administrators from across campus functions to hone key leadership skills, develop better understanding of the campus as a workplace and culture, share experiences and create new personal networks and networking skills.
“I am extremely excited about the opportunity to work with women from around the country to better understand the various leadership roles across campus,” Mongeon-Stewart said. “I hope to return with new and innovative ideas about the roles of women in leadership and how we can continue to make NDSU an amazing place to work and to learn.”
Mongeon-Stewart has been employed by NDSU since 2007. She previously was director of finance for Bismarck State College for five years. She earned an MBA from the University of Mary and a Bachelor’s degree in 1996 from NDSU.
