Matt Chaussee, technical services manager in the Office of the Vice President for Finance and Administration, was selected as the recipient of the 2015 IT Partner Award.
The NDSU Information Technology Division launched the IT Partner Award this year to recognize students, faculty and staff who collaborate with IT Division staff to provide innovative technology solutions for teaching, learning and research.
Chaussee was nominated for his leadership role in the collaborative project to launch on-campus Microsoft Office Specialist training and certification for NDSU faculty and staff. He partnered with staff in the IT Division’s Instructional Services unit to offer Microsoft Office training tailored to fit the certification program. He also secured financial support from NDSU’s provost, the Office of the Vice President for Finance and Administration and the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs to offer certification at no cost to departments or individuals.
As a result of these collaborative efforts and Chaussee’s leadership NDSU is on track to reach 500 Microsoft Office Specialist certifications among employees before March 2016. More information about the program is available at www.ndsu.edu/softwarecertification.
Chaussee was one of seven NDSU community members nominated for the award. Nominations were submitted by staff in the IT Division, and the award recipient was selected by an internal committee.
Other nominees of the 2015 IT Partner Award include Melissa Vosen Callens, assistant professor of practice, College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences; Brent DeKrey, associate director of maintenance and repairs, Facilities Management; Viet Doan, director of Student Affairs Administrative Systems; Sidney Fisk, research analyst, Institutional Research and Analysis; Anita Hanson, disability specialist, Disability Services; and Rian Nostrum, director of Residence Life.
All nominees were recognized at the first Partners of Information Technology Recognition Reception on May 8. The reception was hosted by the IT Division to recognize all groups and individuals who engage in partnerships with NDSU’s IT Division. The recognition reception will be held annually.
