The annual NDSU Hettinger Research Extension Center field tours are scheduled for Tuesday, July 7, beginning at 5 p.m. MDT.
The crop tour begins at the new Agronomy and Range Research Laboratory next to the old Research Center office building. The tour will give side-by-side comparisons of new varieties of spring wheat, durum and barley, along with presentations on weed control and the importance of soil microbiology to crop production.
Tour participants also will see trials of several other crops being grown at the center and hear from Extension specialists, scientists and plant breeders.
An open house, tour and supper at the new Agronomy and Range Research Laboratory is scheduled following the field tour at 7 p.m.
