Eveadean Myers, vice president for equity, diversity and global outreach, presented “Perceptions on the Recruitment and Retention of Women at NDSU,” a report on the feedback she received from campus meetings with a wide spectrum of faculty, staff, students and administrators on campus. The presentation was held at the Memorial Union Century Theater on Dec. 17.
During the campus meetings, she focused on two questions:
• What are the issues and concerns regarding recruitment and retention of women at NDSU?
• What are some solutions to these issues and concerns?
Myers reported on seven main topic areas that were raised during these meetings: campus climate, family concerns, mentoring, policies, recruitment/hiring, salaries/equity and service. She discussed the main concerns raised with each issue and several proposed solutions as well as what NDSU has done so far to respond to those concerns.
The PowerPoint presentation is located on the Office for Equity, Diversity and Global Outreach Web site at www.ndsu.edu/equal_opportunity.
