Steve Sobiech has been named assistant vice president for Information Technology Services at NDSU.
He was selected for the position following a national search.
Sobiech has 14 years of experience working in the university’s Information Technology Division. He joined the organization as a student employee in 2001 and advanced to a full-time position at the IT Help Desk in 2006. He was promoted to assistant manager of the Help Desk in 2007 and was named manager in 2011. In 2013, Sobiech was appointed to an interim leadership position as acting executive director for the division’s Enterprise Computing and Infrastructure Department.
Marc Wallman, vice president for information technology, said Sobiech’s experience and collaborative approach make him an excellent fit for the position.
“During his time at NDSU, Steve has developed strong relationships with our campus community and constituencies,” Wallman said. “He’s also established a track record for providing leadership to staff within the IT Division.”
Sobiech earned a bachelor’s degree from NDSU.
