A dedication ceremony for the Fallen Bison Memorial is scheduled Thursday, Oct. 8, at noon outside NDSU's Bentson-Bunker Fieldhouse at 1301 Centennial Blvd.
The event will honor NDSU students, faculty and alumni who have died in the line of duty. It will immediately follow President Dean L. Bresciani's State of the University Address.
The program will feature a welcome by Bresciani and a keynote speech by a distinguished NDSU graduate. It also includes a 21-gun salute, which will use blank ammunition and consist of three volleys of seven rifle reports each. At no time will a live round be present for the dedication.
