Bison Ranger Challenge Club to sponsor Halloween 5K run fundraiser

SHARE

The Bison Ranger Challenge Club, comprised of NDSU ROTC Cadets, will sponsor a holiday "Zombie 5K Run," scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 31. During the interactive race through campus, participants will try to avoid Cadets dressed as zombies.

Check-in begins at 8 a.m., with the run starting at 9:15 a.m. at Bentson Bunker Fieldhouse. The entry fee is $25 if preregistering online or $30 on the day of the race.

"We use all of the money to help enhance the training of our Cadets, like transportation, food and equipment. Every cent that we get is vital to training our Cadets," explained event registration coordinator Hunter Tran, ROTC Cadet and sophomore majoring in civil engineering. "This event isn’t just a fundraiser for us; it's also a great way to do something on Halloween and a great kick-starter to the day."

Participants are encouraged to wear costumes or zombie gear.

According to Tran, participants who register before Oct. 15 will receive a T-shirt. There also will be prizes for top male, female, team and best-dressed team.

Register here. For further information, contact Tran at hunter.tran@ndsu.edu or Cadet Geminette Palencia, a senior health communication major, at geminette.palencia@ndsu.edu.
