Blue Key Honor Society nominations sought

SHARE

Twice each year, Blue Key National Honor Society looks for outstanding NDSU juniors and seniors to be part of their society. Selection is based on leadership, community service, personality and high scholastic achievement. Blue Key requires active involvement from all members. The group is seeking organized, motivated and dedicated students.

To ensure that a representative cross-section of NDSU students is considered, the society is asking for faculty and staff to nominate students. Please provide information about the candidate’s community service, campus activities, honors, awards and a letter of recommendation.

Since there are usually more candidates nominated than positions available, the society asks that nominations remain confidential (from others as well as the nominee). Send nominations to Kassie Kostecki, vice president of the society, at k.kostecki@ndsu.edu by Sunday, Jan. 26.

Blue Key National Honor Society was established on the campus of NDSU in 1927 to serve both the campus and the community. The Blue Key motto is “Serving I Live,” and Blue Key strives to recognize those who have served both NDSU and the state of North Dakota. The Distinguished Educator Award, Doctor of Service Award and Prairie Rose Achievement Award are three awards that recognize such excellence in service. Other activities sponsored by Blue Key include the NDSU/SDSU Dakota Marker, Homecoming Show, Bison Brevities and student scholarships.

For more information, contact Kale Van Bruggen, president of the society, at Kale.Vanbruggen@ndsu.edu or (701) 371-2136; Kostecki at k.kostecki@ndsu.edu or (701) 371-3714; or Eugene Berry, faculty adviser, at eugene.berry@ndsu.edu or 1-7520.
