Members of NDSU Army and Air Force ROTC are scheduled to perform a special flag raising ceremony Monday, Nov. 9, at 8:15 a.m. at the Memorial Union flag plaza. During the event to honor Veterans Day, an absentee roll call of fallen NDSU students will be read.
Chris Hanson, American Legion Post No. 2 commander, is set to be the guest speaker at the event. Cadet Josh Fergel, who is student body vice president, will serve as master of ceremonies.
In addition, NDSU Air Force ROTC members are scheduled to conduct a Veterans Day vigil Wednesday, Nov. 11, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the NDSU McGovern Alumni Center.
"Our vigil will include a raising and lowering of the flag, along with cadets on guard throughout the day. It is significant because it allows us to respect the flag as well as those who serve and have served our country," said senior Joseph Mathes, an ROTC cadet who is organizing the vigil.
As a student-focused, land-grant, research university, we serve our citizens.
