NDSU President Dean L. Bresciani has been invited to serve on a subcommittee for the NCAA Division I Sport Organizational Structure working group.
The subcommittee recently was formed to support the working group, on which Bresciani represents the Summit League. The working group is reviewing the components of the multisport sponsorship commitment by Division I schools and exploring a range of approaches. The new subcommittee’s role is to oversee the collection of data and membership feedback.
Bresciani also is a member of the NCAA Division I Presidential Forum. He is the first president of a North Dakota college or university to join major leadership groups of the NCAA. He brings extensive experience with college athletics to North Dakota, gained while he served in leadership positions at campuses such as Texas A&M University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He played a major role in bringing extensive national attention to North Dakota via ESPN’s Game Day and SportsCenter programs in Fargo, thanks to his working relationships in the field.
Bresciani also is immediate past chair of the Summit League’s Presidents’ Council and chair of the Missouri Valley Football Conference Presidents’ Council.
