Three candidates for dean of the College of Business are set to come to NDSU for interviews and an open forum.
“We are excited to be bringing a strong set of finalists to campus,” said Kent Sandstrom, search committee chair and dean of the NDSU College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. “We think the College of Business will have an opportunity to choose an excellent leader who can enable them to attain even greater accomplishments in the future.”
Scott A. Beaulier, executive director of the Center for Economic Liberty at Arizona State University, Tempe, is set to come to campus Jan. 28-29. He previously was chair of the Division of Economics and Finance at Troy University, Alabama, and director of the Center for Undergraduate Research in Public Policy and Capitalism at Mercer University, Macon, Georgia.
Beaulier earned his bachelor's degree at Northern Michigan University, Marquette, and his master's degree and doctorate in economics from George Mason University, Fairfax, Virginia.
Timothy E. Jares, professor of finance for the Monfort College of Business at the University of Northern Colorado, Greeley, is scheduled to visit NDSU Feb. 4-5. He had served as interim dean of the college from May 2007 to August 2008, and was assistant or associate dean from 2002 to 2007. In addition, he is a portfolio consultant for NCMC Inc.
Jares earned his bachelor's degree at the University of South Dakota and his Master of Business Administration and doctorate from the University Nebraska-Lincoln.
Melissa L. Gruys, professor and chair of the Department of Management and International Business, Raj Soin College of Business, Wright State University, Fairborn, Ohio, is scheduled to visit NDSU Feb. 11-12. She previously was on the faculty at Washington State University-Vancouver.
Gruys earned her bachelor's degree at the University of Minnesota, Morris, and her doctorate in human resources and industrial relations at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.
