NDSU is set to participate in events to mark International Writing Centers Week Feb. 16-19. The annual event is organized by the International Writing Centers Association.
Designed as “an opportunity for people who work in writing centers to celebrate writing,” the week has been observed internationally since 2006.
The celebration at NDSU includes the following events:
• Fun With Word Games
Tuesday, Feb. 16, 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m., Memorial Union lobby
Sponsored by the Undergraduate Center for Writers.
• Write Like Shakespeare
Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2-3 p.m., Room of Nations, FLC
Registration is required. Sponsored by the Undergraduate Center for Writers and the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences/Department of English ShakespeareFest Organizing Group .
• Assessing the Writing of International Students
Thursday, Feb. 18, noon-1:30 p.m., Arikara Room, Memorial Union
Registration is required. The workshop will be facilitated by Carol Bishop, NDSU intensive English language program director, and Mary Pull, Undergraduate Center for Writers director. Sponsored by the Undergraduate Center for Writers and the Intensive English Language Program .
• Disquisition Writing Answers
Friday, Feb. 19, 2-3 p.m., Memorial Union lobby
Questions will be answered by Dan Nygard, Graduate School disquisition processor, and a Graduate Center for Writers consultant. Sponsored by the Graduate Center for Writers and the Graduate School.
