Tim Scheving began his duties as Veterans Educational Training, known as VET, coordinator on Feb. 29. In his role, Tim will run the Fargo VET site in Ceres Hall and coordinate the statewide efforts of the program.
VET serves military service members who wish to test and improve their skills in mathematics, English and other subjects prior to enrolling in college.
Scheving is from East Grand Forks, Minnesota, and graduated from the University of North Dakota with a bachelor's degree in business administration. He earned his master’s degree from UND in counseling.
Scheving was regional director for Children’s Services Coordinating Committee, Region IV, covering the counties of Grand Forks, Walsh, Pembina and Cavalier from 1996-2000. From 2000-14, he worked in counseling, education and training for the U.S. Air Force at Grand Forks Air Force Base; Dyess Air Force Base in Texas and Minot Air Force Base. As a civilian supervisor, Scheving completed Air Command and Staff College, a master's-level course designed to develop students for higher-level command and staff responsibilities.
He lives in Moorhead, Minnesota.
