Robert B. Engel, president and CEO of CoBank, is scheduled to present the 17th annual Aldrich C. Bloomquist Lectureship on Wednesday, April 1, at 7 a.m. at the Fargo Holiday Inn. His lecture is titled “Steadying Forces in Turbulent Times.”
The lectureship is sponsored by the Quentin N. Burdick Center for Cooperatives at NDSU, with funding from the Aldrich C. Bloomquist Endowment, which was established by American Crystal Sugar Co.
Engel will discuss significant weaknesses revealed by the current economic turmoil, including a void in leadership in both the private and public sectors. His talk will address how features of rural America will help insulate it from the downward spiral, but no one will be immune.
The lectureship is named for the former president and longtime executive of American Crystal Sugar Co.
