Seminar to feature wildlife research expert

The NDSU Department of Biological Sciences is set to host a presentation by Larry Clark, director of USDA-APHIS-Wildlife Services, National Wildlife Research Center, Fort Collins, Colorado. The seminar is scheduled Tuesday, April 26, at 3 p.m. in Stevens 230. 

Clark’s seminar is titled “Wildlife Damage Management: Research, Development and Translational Successes and Challenges.”

Clark earned his bachelor’s degree in zoology from the University of Maryland, his master’s degree in biology from Northern Arizona University and his doctorate in biology from the University of Pennsylvania. In addition, he was a Public Health Service, National Research Service Award post-doctoral fellow and APHIS Science Fellow.

His research has included such topics as temperature regulation development in birds, chemical and physiological ecology of wildlife, use of biopharmaceuticals by wildlife and wildlife disease ecology. His work has taken him across the United States, the former Soviet Union, the arctic, and Central and South Pacific islands.

Clark has more than 150 scientific publications, four patents and licenses, and has served as an adjunct faculty at Rutgers University, the University of Pennsylvania and Colorado State University. In 2013, he received the prestigious Manheimer Award for career achievement in chemosensory sciences.
