A memorial service for William Slanger, former NDSU director of institutional research and analysis, is scheduled for Saturday, June 18, at 10 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Fargo. Slanger, 71, died May 6.
Slanger joined NDSU as an assistant professor of animal sciences in 1975, and was promoted to full professor in 1987. He served as interim dean of the Graduate School for five years, and was named director of institutional research and analysis in 2000. Slanger retired in 2015.
He was active in Rotary International, Boy Scouts of America and the New Sudanese Community Association.
Slanger earned his bachelor’s degree from Montana State University, and master’s degree and doctorate at Cornell University, Ithaca, New York.
