Three NDSU student-athletes have been named to the Summit League’s Softball Academic All-League Team as voted on by the institutions’ faculty athletics representatives and sports information directors.
NDSU senior Jackie Stifter was honored for a third consecutive season, while teammate Cheyenne Garcia was voted to the academic team a second straight time. Sophomore Jacquelyn Sertic was named to the squad for the first time.
Stifter, who is from Winsted, Minnesota, is a social science and public history major with a 3.73 grade-point average. Garcia, from Vista, California, is majoring in human development and family science and has a 3.45 GPA. Sertic, who is from Sparks, Nevada, has a 3.76 GPA and is majoring in biochemisty.
A total of 10 student-athletes from five schools were named to the team and honored for their combined athletic and academic performances this season.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30, completed at least one full academic year at the current institution and participated in 50 percent of their team's competitions.
