The NDSU men’s basketball team has achieved some of the highest academic performance of the university’s NCAA Division I era.
The Bison, who have won two Summit League titles in the past three seasons, recorded a 3.27 team grade-point average for the spring 2016 semester – matching the highest men’s basketball semester GPA since NDSU moved to Division I.
The student-athletes on the 2015-16 roster combined for a cumulative 3.31 team GPA.
“We are extremely proud and very pleased that our guys continue to understand the importance of being complete student-athletes,” said NDSU head coach David Richman. “There is no question that our success in the classroom correlates to our continued success on the court.”
The Bison had seven men record better than a 3.70 GPA for spring semester, including three with 4.0 marks.
