Volunteer facilitators are need for this year’s North Dakota Science Olympiad, scheduled for April 18 at NDSU. The event is expected to attract more than 600 middle school and high school students, teachers and spectators.
Event facilitators generally complete advance preparation for the event and facilitate or judge the event on the day of competition. Previous experience is not necessary and volunteers do not need to be an expert in a scientific field.
According to organizers, there are many events from multiple disciplines to choose from. Enthusiasm and a willingness to share your time are the only prerequisites.
The event’s initial meeting is scheduled for Monday, March 23, at 4 p.m. in FLC 312. At the meeting, descriptions for the various events and the event schedule will be discussed. The information can be accessed at www.ndsu.nodak.edu/csme/olympiad.
