Members of the honor society Phi Kappa Phi are invited to make reservations for the 2009 spring initiation dinner on Wednesday, April 29, at 5 p.m. in the Memorial Union Ballroom.
To reserve tickets, contact Rhonda Kitch at rhonda.k.kitch@ndsu.edu by April 22. A chicken entrée is planned and an alternative vegetarian meal is available. Please indicate which meal you prefer when you make a reservation. The cost is $20 per person, payable at the door.
President Joseph A. Chapman will be the featured speaker for this event, which will honors nine University Distinguished Professors and outstanding undergraduate and graduate students from all academic disciplines.
The NDSU chapter of Phi Kappa Phi, established in 1913, is the tenth oldest of more than 280 active chapters nationwide. Many early chapters were founded at emerging land-grant colleges and universities because the society welcomed members from the newer technological disciplines as well as the arts and sciences.
To meet the minimum standards for membership in Phi Kappa Phi, juniors must rank in the top 7.5 percent academically, and seniors must rank in the top 10 percent. At the graduate level, a 4.0 grade-point average is required.
