The NDSU Hospitality Student Association will host the fifth annual Food and Wine Show on Thursday, April 9, at the Alumni Center from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Several local restaurants will serve their signature items and Happy Harry’s will provide wine tastings during the event.
Participating restaurants include Basie’s, Breadsmith, Café Muse/Green Market Catering, Fantasies in Frosting, HoDo Restaurant, Josie’s Corner, Nichole’s Fine Pastries, Sandella’s and The Silver Moon.
Tickets are $15 in advance and $17 at the door. Professional dress is suggested. Attendees must be 21 years of age or older. There will be a silent auction during the event.
According to Kara Wolfe, assistant professor of hospitality and tourism management, the Food and Wine Show involves practical application of classroom learning by requiring the students to organize an event, contact local chefs, market and sell tickets, as well as work the event. “Students have diligently planned this event and would like to see their efforts come to fruition,” Wolfe said.
The Hospitality and Tourism Management Program at NDSU has around 150 students and offers options in lodging, restaurant and event management. For more information, e-mail ndsuHSA@yahoo.com or contact Wolfe at 1-8224 or kara.wolfe@ndsu.edu.
