Daniel Schuster, a senior finance major from Fargo, was awarded a Study Abroad Grant of $1,000 from the Phi Kappa Phi honor society. Schuster is one of 26 students nationwide to receive the award.
He will use the grant to study abroad at Ewha Womans University in Seoul, South Korea.
Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Grants are designed to support undergraduates, both members and nonmembers, as they seek expanded knowledge and experience in their academic fields. Since the program's inception in 2001, the society has awarded more than $775,000 in Study Abroad Grants.
Founded in 1897, Phi Kappa Phi is the nation's oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines. The society annually inducts approximately 30,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni. There are chapters at more than 300 select colleges and universities in North America and the Philippines.
Membership is by invitation only to the top 10 percent of seniors and graduate students and 7.5 percent of juniors. Faculty, professional staff and alumni who have achieved scholarly distinction also qualify.
