NDSU defensive end Greg Menard was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America first team Dec. 1, by a vote of the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Menard, a junior from Lakeville, Minnesota, has a 3.82 cumulative grade-point average in civil engineering. It is his second straight CoSIDA Academic All-America® award. He also is a two-time Missouri Valley Football Conference All-Academic Team honoree.

To qualify for the honor, nominees must be a starter or key reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average, sophomore athletic and academic standing, and have completed at least one year at their current institution.

This is the seventh CoSIDA Academic All-America award for the NDSU football program in the past three seasons under head coach Chris Klieman.
