Student receives agricultural honor society award

Gamma Sigma Delta, NDSU’s agricultural honor society, honored doctoral candidate Cassie Anderson with the Graduate Research Award for her paper “Biodegradability of Arabnioxylan Films.” The presentation took place on April 4.

Anderson was also inducted into the honor society during the ceremony. In addition, 13 undergraduate students, 29 graduate students and six faculty were also inducted.

Anderson recently completed her cereal science master’s degree in the Department of Plant Sciences. She will continue her doctoral studies with adviser Senay Simsek, Bert L. D’Appolonia Cereal Science and Technology of Wheat Endowed Associate Professor.

The NDSU chapter of Gamma Sigma Delta was chartered in 2005. Its purpose is to advance agriculture research and education, and honor persons excelling in all areas of agriculture and related sciences.
