NDSU’s 800 Café is scheduled to serve its last lunch of the semester, themed “Summer Fiesta.” The meal is set for Thursday, May 4, in the Food Production Complex on the third floor of the Katherine K. Burgum Family Life Center. Seating will be from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
The menu for the meal includes:
· Mexican-style summer squash soup garnished with a dollop of plain Greek yogurt.
· Chicken kabobs with pineapple and assorted color bell peppers served over a bed of steamed brown rice.
· Chilled black bean salad, garnished with avocado.
· Angel food tiramisu layered with creamy berry filling, topped with mixed berries and a lemon zest garnish.
Dietetics students Sallie Yakowicz and Dayo Wadsworth will manage the meal with the help of their classmates.
The cost is $10 per person and includes beverages. Cash or check are acceptable forms of payment.
Walk-ins are welcomed, but reservations are preferred due to limited seating. The café is open to the public and parking is available in NDSU’s visitor lot on the south side of the Memorial Union. The Katherine K. Burgum Family Life Center is connected to the Memorial Union.
The 800 Café is operated by NDSU dietetic students. Sherri Nordstrom Stastny, associate professor of health, nutrition and exercise sciences, is the class instructor.
