The NDSU men’s basketball team has earned the Team Academic Excellence Award for the fourth straight year. The honor is presented by the National Association of Basketball Coaches.
The academic award program recognizes outstanding academic achievement by teams with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better for the 2016-17 season. All teams in NCAA Divisions I, II, III and NAIA Division I and II are eligible.
NDSU was one of 48 Division I schools to receive the Team Academic Excellence Award, as the student-athletes on the 2016-17 roster combined for a cumulative 3.25 team GPA. The Bison had five men record better than a 3.50 GPA for the spring 2017 semester.
NDSU has earned eight of the 15 spots on the Summit League Academic All-League Team during the past three seasons, including three out of the five spots in each of the last two years.
