The NDSU Extension Service and several other organizations have teamed up with the Red River Zoo in Fargo for the first Agriculture Adventure Day, scheduled for Saturday, July 22, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the zoo.
Farmers, zookeepers and scientists will create a fun-filled day dedicated to the diversity of North Dakota agriculture. Hands-on activities, educational booths, a farm equipment display, face painting and special zookeeper presentations are planned.
NDSU Extension specialists and staff set to help with the event include:
• Abbey Wick, soil health specialist, will talk about crops and soil health.
• Esther McGinnis, horticulturist, will provide learning activities related to horticulture and pollinators.
• NDSU Department of Animal Sciences staff and graduate students will answer questions about farm animals.
Admission is free for children and a free lunch will be available while supplies last.
