Hodge gives lecture at Cornell Mathematics Summer Institute

SHARE

Angie Hodge, assistant professor of mathematics, gave an invited lecture on June 15 at the Cornell Mathematics Summer Institute.

The institute is a summer workshop for undergraduate students who are interested in pursuing a graduate degree in mathematics. A major focus of the course is the advanced undergraduate course in algebra. In addition to the course work, participants work on projects that provide opportunities for exploration in a research-like setting, culminating in a public presentation.

Hodge’s talk was on how mathematicians can study how abstract algebra is used to teach in the secondary classroom.
