A team of NDSU students earned the top design award at the International Aerial Robotics Competition at Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta.
NDSU earned the Best Technical Paper award, which recognizes the overall technical solution and its presentation. Freshman computer science major Abdullah Almosalami presented the paper for NDSU.
The competition, in its 27th year, is dedicated to advancing the behaviors of autonomous aerial robotics. Competitors are given challenges currently deemed impossible to achieve. Some challenges take several years to complete. The current mission started in 2014.
