An outstanding group of incoming NDSU freshmen has received the Harry D. McGovern Scholarship, a full-tuition award. The scholarships are made available to incoming freshmen with a minimum 3.0 GPA with high ACT or SAT scores.
Preference is given to students with an intended major in the fields of science, technology, engineering or mathematics, known as STEM. A total of 21 students received the scholarship.
The awards, distributed through the Office of Admission, range from $6,924 to $18,488 for four years.

The scholarship is part of a gift from Harry D. McGovern, a 1966 civil engineering graduate of NDSU. McGovern donated a record total of $13.5 million through the NDSU Foundation and Alumni Association.
