Insects, diseases, processing, marketing and breeding will be the topics at this year's canola research tour at NDSU’s North Central Research Extension Center near Minot. The event will be Monday, June 29, from 9 a.m. to noon.
Speakers for the event will include Sam Markell, assistant professor of plant pathology; Janet Knodel, assistant professor of entomology; Mukhlesur Rahman, NDSU canola breeder; Brian Jenks, weed scientist at the North Central Research Extension Center; and Barry Coleman, executive director of the Northern Canola Growers Association.
"This tour will provide a wonderful opportunity to learn about the latest research on canola production and interact with growers and university and industry personnel," says Jay Fisher, North Central Research Extension Center director.
A free lunch will be served. Participants also will have a chance to win 25 gallons of PowerMAX, a new Roundup agricultural herbicide formulation.
