The public is invited to watch NDSU’s annual Homecoming parade, scheduled for Friday, Sept. 29, at 5:30 p.m. in downtown Fargo.
The parade is expected to include 76 floats and entrants, representing student groups, NDSU academic departments, local businesses and community organizations. The NDSU Gold Star Marching Band, Gold Star Marching Band alumni and the New York Mills, Minnesota, high school band will provide musical entertainment during the parade.
“The Homecoming parade is a celebration of NDSU in the heart of the Fargo community. Since we have moved the parade downtown, it has become a fun, family event where all of the NDSU can celebrate together the great community of Fargo,” said Michael Harwood, Homecoming committee co-chair and assistant vice president and dean-student life.
Participating dignitaries are scheduled to include NDSU President Dean L. Bresciani, Fargo Mayor Tim Mahoney, the Homecoming king and queen, and members of the Homecoming court.
The parade will run north on Broadway from NP Avenue to Fourth Avenue North, and then turn west and end at Seventh Street North.
