Anne Eliason, assistant professor of practice at the NDSU School of Nursing at Sanford Health in Bismarck, has received the North Dakota Legendary Nurse Award for Leadership from the North Dakota Center for Nursing. Eliason received the award at the group’s annual meeting on Oct. 12-13 in Bismarck, North Dakota.
The award honors nurses who provide exceptional leadership in an executive role for nursing. Peers in the North Dakota nursing community nominate candidates for the award.
Nominators noted that Eliason is an approachable resource for her colleagues, exhibiting exceptional communication, flexibility and a willingness to assist others, while inspiring nurses to be better educators and colleagues.
Eliason’s excellence in leadership was noted through her work with the Xi Chapter at Large of Sigma Theta Tau International, Honor Society for Nursing. She serves as current chapter president and previously served as counselor and vice president.
“We are so happy for Anne on this well-deserved honor and recognition. She is a true leader and inspiration to all,” said Wendy Kopp, director of nursing at NDSU School of Nursing at Sanford Health.
