NDSU’s Carrington Research Extension Center has planned a tour of the Northern Hardy Fruit Project for Tuesday, Aug. 18, at 6 p.m.
Kathy Wiederholt, fruit project manager, will begin the evening with a tour of the fruit orchard. Rudy Radke, NDSU Extension Service’s area agricultural diversification and high-value crops specialist, and Chuck Fleming, marketing coordinator for the North Dakota Department of Agriculture, will speak on topics such as local infrastructure and market development for fruit crops in North Dakota.
The Northern Hardy Fruit Project was established in 2006 to introduce and demonstrate alternative and economically viable varieties of fruits that will grow in North Dakota.
