Michael Dirk from Facilities Management, Judy Qualley from Facilities Management, and Brittnee Steckler from Human Resources/Payroll were the recipients of the first annual FACE Award during ceremonies held Aug. 12. They are three of the 18 nominees recognized by the faculty and staff of NDSU for their exemplary impact in making NDSU a better institution every day.
The FACE (Finance and Administration Conscientious Effort) Award was conceived as a way for the university to recognize and commend staff members in the Division of Finance and Administration. These are employees who take the extra step, go above and beyond and put their best FACE forward.
Dirk was cited as going above and beyond in regard to the remodeling projects in Stevens Hall; coordinating quick turn-arounds in office movements; providing feedback on progress of projects; and being hardworking, friendly, accommodating and a genuinely nice person.
Qualley was cited as being amazing, giving exceptional attention to detail, showing pride in her work, dropping everything to attend to others needs, communicating with everyone about upcoming projects and having a cheery attitude.
Steckler is cited as being professional, detailed, thorough and timely. She follows through with all projects, makes new employees feel important and welcome, is open minded, uses personal knowledge and experience and helps individuals think through difficult choices.
John Adams, vice president for finance and administration, thanks all the people who took time to show their appreciation by nominating the employees. A list of all nominees will be posted on the Vice President for Finance and Administration Web site.
