NDSU Athletics announced five Bison football games will be televised this season. Jeremy Jorgenson, director of NDSU Athletic Broadcasting says one regional broadcast, three statewide broadcasts and a pair of road games highlight the 2009 television schedule.
Bison football will be carried on Fox College Sports Central on Saturday, Oct. 10, against Northern Iowa as part of the Missouri Valley Football Conference television package.
KVLY-TV (Channel 11, NBC, Fargo) and the North Dakota NBC Network (KFYR-TV, Channel 5, Bismarck; KQCD-TV, Channel 7, Dickinson; KMOT-TV, Channel 10, Minot; and KUMV-TV, Channel 8, Williston) will carry three games live, including homecoming against Illinois State on Saturday, Oct. 3, and the annual battle for the Dakota Marker at South Dakota State on Saturday, Oct. 17.
KVLY-TV also will air the road game at Western Illinois on Saturday, Oct. 31, a game that will be produced by Western Illinois University.
“We are excited to bring Bison fans four NDSU football games this year, the third year of our broadcast partnership with Bison Athletics,” said Charley Johnson, KVLY-TV general manager.
The North Dakota NBC Network Production Team has been producing sporting events in the region for the past 22 years.
“We are excited to get so many of our games produced both locally, regionally and statewide. We are looking forward to another exciting year and are happy that our fans and supporters will have a chance to watch the Bison either in person or on television,” said Gene Taylor, NDSU director of athletics.
In addition, “The Craig Bohl Football Show” will air live statewide starting Sunday, Sept. 6., at 10:30 a.m. Due to U.S. Open Tennis coverage on KXJB-TV (Channel 4, CBS, Fargo), the first show will air on all NBC affiliates, including KVLY. The remainder of the season the coach's show will air on KXJB Fargo, and the North Dakota NBC Network stations.
The show also will air Sunday nights on KVLY after the late local news. “The Craig Bohl Football Show” is hosted by former NFL and Bison star Phil Hansen.
