Six NDSU Bison football players have been selected as members of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame Hampshire Honor Society. The list, announced April 11, is comprised of college football players from all divisions of play who each maintained a cumulative 3.2 GPA or better throughout their college career.
An all-time high of 1,251 players from a record-tying 302 schools qualified for membership in the society's 12th year. NDSU linebacker Chris Board, offensive guard Bryce Messner, defensive tackle Grant Morgan, linebacker Matt Plank and wide receivers Daniel Polansky and RJ Urzendowski were among the honorees.
Nominated by their respective schools, members of the honor society must have:
• Completed their final year of eligibility in 2017
• Achieved a 3.2 cumulative grade point average throughout entire course of undergraduate study; and
• Met all NCAA- or NAIA-mandated progress towards degree requirements
