SHARE

The NDSU music department will host a fall workshop for the Northern Plains Kodály Educators Chapter. The workshop, titled “Present, Practice, Polish and Perform: The Kodály Process Applied to the Choral Setting,” will feature Angela Broeker from the University of St. Thomas.

The workshop will explore ways to teach choral music to youth choirs while presenting and practicing musical literacy. Participants will receive tips on warming up the voice and polishing music for performance, including instructions in vowel and consonant production as well as solutions for common choral challenges. The workshop is open to all music educators.

Broeker is the director of choral activities and conducts the chamber singers and women’s choir. She also teaches undergraduate courses in choral conducting and methodology.

The mission of the Organization of American Kodály Educators, including the Northern Plains Chapter, is to enrich the quality of life through music education by promoting the philosophy of Zoltán Kodály.
