Richard Bowman, NDSU football team cornerback, has been named a member for the Allstate Insurance Company and American Football Coaches Association Good Works Team.
Bowman was given this prestigious award because of his embodiment of a real understanding of teamwork and giving back through selfless contributions and commendable acts of kindness.
His contributions include visiting several young cancer patients at MeritCare in Fargo, volunteering at NDSU and North Shore High School youth football camps, organizing playground activities for young children through Fargo Parks and Recreation and helping counter a natural disaster by sandbagging for the Fargo-Moorhead community during the 2009 flood season.
Bowman was the sixth straight NDSU football player to receive this award. He joined Jared Essler (2004), Tim Popowski (2005), Kyle Steffes (2006), Steve Walker (2007) and Tyler Roehl (2008).
