NDSU is planning a United Way Day of Caring for Thursday, Oct. 8, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Bison Sports Arena. The service event links senior citizens with volunteers from businesses and organizations in our communities.
Registration begins at 12:15 p.m. and a short pep rally is planned from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m. Teams of three to five people will then visit the homes of area seniors to help them rake leaves, wash windows, clean hard-to-reach areas, paint and complete other indoor and outdoor tasks. Every year, more than 1,500 volunteers help more than 450 individuals in our community.
