More than a dozen outstanding NDSU engineering students have earned scholarships from the Associated General Contractors of North Dakota.
The AGC of North Dakota Education Foundation announced the winners. The scholarships are awarded to students with career interests in the construction industry.
“Our members have always recognized the importance of providing financial help to the people who will be the future leaders of our industry,” said Paul Diederich, AGC of North Dakota Education Foundation president and president of Industrial Builders Inc. “We are happy to be able to provide these scholarships to the bright students who are pursuing a degree in construction engineering and construction management at NDSU.”
“Scholarships from industry partners like the AGC of North Dakota help us fulfill our land grant mission of providing affordable access to an excellent education,” said Jerry Gao, interim chair of the Department of Construction Management and Engineering.
More than $58,000 worth of scholarships were awarded to 32 students for the 2018-19 school year, including to 16 NDSU students:

· Ryan Holte, junior majoring in construction engineering from East Grand Forks, Minnesota
Diederich Scholarship - $1,500

· Sam Novak, sophomore majoring in construction management from Grafton, North Dakota
Lindberg Construction Scholarship - $1,500

· Wiley Hillestad, freshman majoring in construction management from South Haven, Minnesota
· Garrett Hodenfield, freshman majoring in construction management from Ray, North Dakota
· Autumn Johnson, freshman majoring in construction engineering from Cold Spring, Minnesota

The AGC of North Dakota is a non-profit trade association created in 1951 to represent North Dakota’s construction industry. It has awarded approximately $1 million in scholarships to North Dakota college students since the program was started.
