Abby Gold, nutrition and wellness specialist and assistant professor, was featured in a jointly-produced Twin Cities Public Television and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota Foundation documentary titled "Growing Up Healthy: Kids and Communities." Her research for the project focuses on developing and implementing a program to reduce children’s exposure to pesticides.
The show originally aired in August and highlighted three projects funded by the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota Foundation that have shown promise in reducing exposure to environmental hazards and subsequent negative health effects.
Gold, Linda Kingery and Ruth Rasmussen from the University of Minnesota will show the project at the Food Security Coalition Conference in Des Moines, Iowa, in October.
