NDSU is partnering with Bank of North Dakota to help area high school seniors celebrate National College Application Month. NDSU admission counselors will visit area high schools throughout October to help students submit college applications. Bank of North Dakota is paying one $35 application fee per student when they apply to a North Dakota college.

NDSU will visit the following schools throughout the month of October.

  • Woodrow Wilson, Oct. 23
  • Fargo North, Oct. 24
  • Northern Cass, Oct. 24
  • West Fargo Sheyenne, Oct. 24
  • Fargo South, Oct. 30
  • Oak Grove, Oct. 30

“We are grateful to our partners in banking, secondary education and higher education for their assistance. This project is an excellent opportunity to demonstrate to young people in our state that they are valued and their communities are invested in their future,” said Bank of North Dakota President/CEO Eric Hardmeyer. “A well-educated workforce is essential to support the state’s economy.”

College Application Month is part of a national effort to increase the number of early college applications. Recent North Dakota Department of Commerce data indicated 42 percent of North Dakotans complete at least two years of college. Only 28 percent of North Dakotans achieve a bachelor’s degree, and of that number, only 8 percent continue on to receive a graduate or professional degree.

In addition to Bank of North Dakota, other partners in the effort include North Dakota Office of the Governor, North Dakota University System and North Dakota Department of Public Instruction.

As a student-focused, land-grant, research university, we serve our citizens.
