Scholarships awarded to plant sciences students

Three North Dakota Crop Improvement and Seed Association scholarships were awarded to NDSU Department of Plant Sciences students Elizabeth Blessum, Vincent Carruth and Kaden Martinson. All are majoring in crop and weed sciences. 

Carruth received an incoming freshmen scholarship, while Blessum and Martinson received undergraduate scholarships. 

Blessum is a senior and has accepted a position in the BASF Professional Development Program, which she will start after graduation. Her adviser is Kirk Howatt, associate professor and crop and weed sciences undergraduate program coordinator. 

Martinson is also a senior and is working as an agronomist at Leading Edge Equipment in Devils Lake, North Dakota. His adviser is Juan Osorno, associate professor and dry edible bean breeder.
